The Senior Corporate Staff Accountant at McKibbon Hotel Group plays a key role within our Corporate Office in Gainesville, GA. Reporting directly to the President & Chief Financial Officer and added support to the Corporate Controller, this role is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining the financial reporting for managed hotels and affiliated corporate entities—all while upholding McKibbon’s core values and Guiding Principles.


A Day in the Life:


·       Manage monthly accounting functions for multiple entities

·       Communicate effectively with hotel management teams

·       Perform daily bank reconciliations

·       Review expense accounts to ensure accurate coding

·       Post recurring monthly journal entries

·       Compile and distribute monthly reports to ownership groups as needed

·       Review daily revenue entries and payroll journal entries

·       Conduct analytical reviews of the income statement and balance sheet

·       Reconcile asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis

·       Prepare and file sales, use, and occupancy tax returns

·       Assist with special projects and financial initiatives as assigned

·       Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

·       Customer service-focused approach to internal and external interactions

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English


Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience)

·       5+ years of accounting experience

·       Management experience a plus

·       Proven ability to manage month-end close for multiple entities

·       Hospitality industry experience is a plus

·       Experience with M3 and Accounting Core a plus

·       Strong customer service mindset within a professional service environment

·       Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP, Great Plains, etc.)
